There are a plethora of courses you can go on internal and external covering subjects as diverse as health & safety, coaching, first aid, sport psychology, child protection, table judge, referee, sport psychology. Schools and leisure centres are requiring instructors to produce first aid certificates along with enhanced CRB before allowing you a setting up lessons.
Local adult education centres run a variety of child protection, health and safety and first aid courses.
There is talk that from 2009 as well as appointed persons first aid certificate anyone instructing children under seven years of age will need a paediatric first aid certificate. We will keep you informed on this.
